PROCESS IMPROVEMENT EFFORTS 
I automated several labor-intensive tasks that saved about many hours in manual efforts. 

• NLP-Powered Trade Reject Notifications: Developed a Python script utilizing NLP to analyze FIX messages and trade details. Implemented custom rules to identify specific tags and symbols within FIX messages.  Designed notifications to trigger based on specific trade rejection reasons. This improved notification speed and ensured regulatory compliance for trade discrepancies. Reduced average notification time by 20%.   (Python – NLTK, SpaCY libraries) 

• Automated IPO Listing Set-up: Automated, using bash script and Python, the process of setting up new listing IPOs across various trading systems, eliminating manual effort and reducing errors, saving up to 4.5 hours per week.  

• Automated Trade Data Retrieval & Compliance Support: Developed a Bash script to automate the retrieval of trade and client information from databases. This optimized response times for data requests and facilitated efficient support for compliance teams during audits.

• Automated Database Monitoring & Archiving: Developed a Bash script to monitor critical transaction database (SQL) storage space. This script proactively sent notifications with recommended maintenance actions and automated data archiving based on retention policies, ensuring optimal database performance and regulatory compliance.

MARKET READINESS & SYSTEMS EFFICIENCY

• Played a key role in planning, executing, analysis and documenting for 2 SIFMA tests, 3 Market Wide Circuit Breaker Tests, and 2 Liquidity stress Testing initiatives

• Led joint triage efforts to diagnose and resolve production incidents, system breaks, and outages. This involved collaborating with various teams to identify root causes and implement timely solutions to restore functionality and minimize trading impact.

•  Collaborated effectively with vendors, exchanges, developers, and service providers to seamlessly implement trading system configuration changes, order routing updates, and application upgrades.

• Applied SRE principles to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of electronic trading systems, reducing downtime and disruptions

CLIENT &  TRADING TEAM SUPPORT

• Leveraged in-depth knowledge of the FIX protocol, market structures, and the trade lifecycle to effectively troubleshoot orders, trade queries, DKs, and rejects. This ensured timely resolution and minimized client impact.

• Proactively identified client and trading team needs and initiated projects to streamline request management. This resulted in improved efficiency and adherence to market/regulatory deadlines.

• Demonstrated a strong understanding of regulatory requirements by assisting with reporting to ACT and OATS, resolving reconciliation breaks, and managing trade resubmissions. I also liaised with NASDAQ MarketWatch and FINRA to ensure regulatory compliance.

• Configured and automated End-of-Day trade reports for efficient distribution via SFTP to clients and internal UBS trading teams. This enhanced transparency and communication.
